Upfront Sports delivers elite, hockey-specific strength and conditioning at UNB’s High-Performance Centre, led by CSEP High Performance Specialist Tanner Somers. Tanner and our certified strength and conditioning coaches have years of experience training top junior, pro, and university players, designing science-based programs that directly enhance on-ice performance. Our workouts are delivered through TrainHeroic, allowing athletes to track progress, receive coaching feedback, and stay accountable. Backed by cutting-edge technology and performance tracking, our training ensures players build the strength, speed, and endurance needed to compete at the highest level.

Our Spring 2025 Strength and Conditioning Program is designed to build the foundation you need to hit the ground running this summer. Over the course of 12 sessions, held twice a week from April to May, athletes will focus on developing strength, speed, and endurance to prepare for more intense training in our summer program. This 6-week program will give you a competitive edge, setting you a step ahead of the competition as you build a solid foundation for long-term performance gains. A 13-week elite off-season program designed to push players beyond their limits, both physically and mentally. Inspired by the most effective training methods used at the highest levels, this is the ultimate summer development plan for players committed to taking their game to the next level.
For the first seven weeks, from early June to July 21st, the focus will be entirely on off-ice training, with sessions three days a week to build a strong foundation. Once on-ice sessions begin on July 21st, the program will require a full commitment, with athletes training five days a week for most, if not all, weeks. While we may incorporate a few rest days, those joining should expect this program to be a key part of their summer mornings, Monday through Friday in August.

Delivered through TrainHeroic, these hockey-specific workouts are designed for all levels and can be done on your own schedule, whether you're at home, in the gym, or on the road.
